The need is great, the will of the people is there, and the policies, legislation and funding mechanisms are making their way to the front lines. At the same time, the US and global economies remain uncertain post-pandemic, making thoughtful investment warranted.

Smaller and mid-sized firms that seek to grow and expand their capabilities during this time are wise to prioritize their investments in areas that can have the greatest near-term impact, while setting the firm up for long-term success. With so many areas of opportunity, finding the right mix to meet a company’s strategic objectives can be challenging.

STRATEGIC INVESTMENTS

We’ll bring together my broad understanding of the infrastructure industry and how to grow markets within it, and your team’s understanding of the firm’s strategy, capabilities, and clients, to assess and prioritize the investments that will achieve the firm’s objectives. We’ll explore near-term vs. long-term growth, new market entry vs. deeper penetration of existing markets, and organic vs. acquisitive growth. As a team, we’ll develop action plans for new initiatives ready for investment, or recommend changes to the firm’s strategic plan.

M&A SUPPORT

When discussions lead to mergers & acquisitions, I’m well-positioned to consult. My experience as a business leader in a large firm with a “growth through acquisition” mindset will help firms in buy- or sell-mode consider targets that best achieve their M&A objectives. I facilitate conversations around a firm’s value proposition, strategic and cultural fit, and candidate firms. As the process moves to due diligence, I support with evaluation of sales pipeline and business development capabilities, with the aim of ensuring an acquired firm’s people, capabilities and processes are captured, maintained and valued during the deal process, and through integration.

DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION CONSULTING

​My approach to consulting is inherently through an inclusion and diversity lens. The topic will have a spotlight throughout my facilitated conversations and in all my recommendations. In particular, I am passionate about helping mid-career women find their voice in the crowd and their seat at the table. It’s with this in mind I offer I&D consulting for firms that seek to have meaningful I&D strategies and implementation plans. I also consult with women/minority-owned firms that want the benefit of large-firm experience as they mature, or as they plan for business after graduating from the disadvantaged business enterprise model.
